Grand Rounds on February 23, 2024 at noon with Tammy Berman, Kristen Goss, Steven Blumenthal, and Amy Ellowitz to present on high conflict post judgment dissolution of matters with safety concerns and the role of the child specialist.
Amy Ellowitz
Amy is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern with additional coaching certifications in positive psychology, nutritional theory, and wellness coaching. Amy has built a private clinical practice educating, supporting, and empowering adolescents and adults who are transitioning through Lifequakes—those messy, major disruptive life events that leave us feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to cope. Amy uses a holistic framework that is solution-focused and trauma-informed. Amy is also a therapist (and proud ally) at SunServe, South Florida’s community mental health organization that provides critical life assistance and professional mental health services with an emphasis on economically-disadvantaged, marginalized youth, adults, and seniors.
Kristen Goss
Kristen Goss, born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami and her Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She is the Managing Partner of KWG Family Legal and Mediation Services, LLC, which she founded in 2016. A licensed Collaborative Family Law Attorney, Certified Guardian Ad Litem, and Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, Mrs. Goss has mediated over 100 cases with a high success rate. Nominated for Super Lawyers and top 40 professionals under 40, she balances her career with family life as a wife of 13 years to Marlon and mother to three daughters. Actively engaged in community service, she is nominated for Woman of the Year by the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and was a Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies honoree in 2022.
Tammy Berman
Tammy Berman, LMHC, NBCC, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Board Certified Counselor, and Accredited Collaborative Professional Facilitator. She’s also a Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator and Qualified Parenting Coordinator. As the owner of My Counseling Connections, a group practice, she specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), offering counseling for individuals, couples, and families, including teens and adults. Tammy serves as President of the Collaborative Family Law Professionals of South Florida and is active in various collaborative law organizations. She co-presents Second Saturday Broward, a monthly divorce workshop since 2015, demonstrating her commitment to promoting the Collaborative Process. With expertise in DBT and collaborative law, Tammy advocates for increased access to these approaches in both professional and public spheres.
Steven Blumenthal
Steve Blumenthal holds a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, and M.Ed. and Ed.S in Counselor Education from the University of Florida. He is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Attorney in Florida. With diverse experience in community agencies, private practice, and law firms in California and Florida, he established the Law Offices of Steven E. Blumenthal in 2006. Steve has served on the Board of Directors and as Vice-President of The Collaborative Family Law Professionals of South Florida (CFLPSF). He is affiliated with various collaborative law organizations and presented workshops at the 2023 Florida Academy of Collaborative Professionals and International Academy of Collaborative Professionals conferences. Steve focuses on Collaborative Family Law in South Florida and seeks to extend collaborative practices to resolving estate and trust disputes.
